Alabama Power has been a proud member of the Haleyville Area Chamber of Commerce for many years. As a member, we have the opportunity to work closely with community leaders on projects that help grow and enrich the area. Through this, we are able to connect and form stronger relationships with our customers and other businesses in the community. Being a member of the chamber allows us to network with businesses and individuals through monthly luncheons, events, ribbon cuttings, and the 911 Festival, to name a few. These relationships help us understand the needs of the community we serve and how we can do more to improve the place we have called home since we first opened our doors in Haleyville in 1926.

Since 1906, Alabama Power has provided reliable electricity and unparalleled service to 1.4 million homes, businesses and industries in the southern two-thirds of Alabama. Our top priority is taking care of our customers. This means keeping reliability high and power rates low. For years, we have consistently provided electricity more than 99 percent of the time while keeping our prices below the national average.

For more than 100 years, Alabama Power’s Economic & Community Development team has been active in recruiting new industry to the state. The primary objectives are to grow the economy of Alabama through new capital investment, create jobs that positively impact the wage culture of the state, strengthen the tax base, and increase Alabama Power’s customer base.

Alabama Power is committed to giving back to the communities we serve and through the Alabama Power Foundation, we are able to support the organizations that need it most. In 1989, the Alabama Power Foundation was created with funds donated by Alabama Power shareholders. Since then, the Alabama Power Foundation has provided support with non-ratepayer dollars to Alabama communities, educational institutions and nonprofits through more than 20,000 grants and scholarships.
