The Alabama Entrepreneurial Research Network (AERN), in partnership with the Haleyville Chamber of Commerce and the Haleyville Neighborhood Facilities Building, will hold the grand opening and ribbon cutting for its Winston County Entrepreneurial Center on Sept. 27, 2016 at 11:30 AM in the Neighborhood Facilities Building at 1205 10th Avenue in Haleyville.  AERN is an outreach program in the Culverhouse College of Commerce at The University of Alabama that provides access to business resources including computers, printers, business software such as Business Plan Pro, and business resource books to assist the residents of Winston County in starting or expanding a business.  Additionally, AERN provides workshops and seminars locally as needed and connects local residents to resources at the Bruno Business Library.

According to the SBA’s Office of Advocacy, Alabama’s small businesses created 24,890 net new jobs in 2012, with the largest gain being in firms that employ one to four employees.  AERN is ready to assist the residents of Winston County in starting or expanding a business by connecting them to the resources at the Culverhouse College of Commerce.  The opening of the Winston County AERN Center is made possible by a grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission and support from The University of Alabama.
